2023 Rule of Law Project -- Roanoke County Public Schools
The Center for Teaching the Rule of Law is excited to announce that the Rule of Law Project will be heading back to Roanoke County Schools after being sidelined by the COVID pandemic. We need up to 19 volunteers (or teams if you wish to work with another attorney or judge) to work with 8th Grade Civics Teachers to present the message of the important role the Rule of Law has in upholding the ideals of American Democracy. The Center for Teaching the Rule of Law will provide training for volunteers new to the Project as well as those who might need a refresher.
To volunteer, please complete the form below. You will be contacted with more information about training and how to contact the teacher you will be working with.

How to select a Volunteer Opportunity
- It is suggested that you contact the teacher you wish to work with first (see emails below) before signing-up.
- Each teacher has from one to three class periods on "A" Days and/or "B" Days.
- A volunteer is needed for each day that the teacher has a class or classes.
- We ask that each volunteer present the project at all classes on the same day (you may sign-up for more than one day with the same teacher if you wish)
- The volunteer and the teacher will agree on the date for the presentations between May 15 and May 22
