Continuing Legal Education Programs
The Center for Teaching the Rule of Law offers Virginia MCLE approved CLE programs to local bar associations which can be presented as standalone programs or as part of the process for training judges and attorneys to participate in a Rule of Law Day event. We can present the program live or on a video conference platform. There is no cost to the sponsoring group for the CLE. For more information, please contact the Center for Teaching the Rule of Law.

The Virginia Lawyers Advisory Council
The Virginia Lawyer Advisory Council serves as the
central administrative body for The Rule of Law Project
in Virginia. Consisting of two statewide co-chairs and
representatives from each of Virginia's eight educational
regions, the Advisory Council coordinates communications between local bar associations and school divisions to ensure that Rule of Law Day programs can be implemented successfully in as many school as possible. The LAC also coordinates Rule of Law Project training and Continuing Legal Education programs offered by the Center. If you are interested in becoming a regional representative, please use the contact for on this page to express you interest. Regions can have co-representatives to divide the many localities in each and thus "lighten the load," so don't be shy about asking if there is already a representative for your region.

Local School Division Liaisons
There are 132 local school divisions with 1,853 schools in Virginia as well as 157 local and 92 regional education centers serving over 1,290,000 students. Each year, the State Superintendent of Public Instruction circulates a memo to each local division superintendent announcing the availability of the The Rule of Law Project as a resource for Social Studies teachers. The Local School Division Liaison serves are the contact between the local school division and the legal community to help organize Rule of Law events in the local schools.
